Well I've been working on a lot of different projects over the last few months, and of course life keeps happening. But most recently it has been very eventful.
We had a wonderful temporary addition to our house.
And we lost one of our beloved family member, Caliope.
And I finished a few projects like this quilt. I am keeping this one for myself. I used it recently when I traveled to Denver to say good bye to my Uncle Al, who passed away this month. He will be missed. So much of my early life seems gone, as so many who were part of who made me who I am are gone. We are such a small family now. It is hard to let it go. Here is one of my favorite pictures of my Uncle Al that was given to be a few years ago.
And here is the quilt that I just finished.

Ok - so it's has been two years and I am finally thinking about writing in my blog again. I just don't always feel like I have that much to say - but perhaps we will try again. I wanted to post some of my favorite work from that last couple of years. So here goes.......
These were all very fun to work on. Some were commissions and the two art quilts were just for me. One was for our guilds quilt challenge last year.

New Stuff
Well I finally made a new quilt for myself. It is from a book tht I found which I just love. I don't normally do someones else's pattern, because my brain generally goes in other directions, but I loved this one so much that I thought that I would make it for me.
Time is going all too quickly. I really can not believe that the summer is half gone and that we are hald way throught the year 2009. Where did the days go. I have busy every day and the ones that I am not I veggitate and sleep. My 'zoo' keeps me pretty busy when I am not at work or quilting, which I have been crazy with the last two weeks. I am eating and sleeping sewing and having so much fun. I do not want it to come to an end. Oh well .......... then reality sets in.
Here is my latest creation and a very cool picture of Stiefel. He's such a cool cat.

Missing in Action
Yup - that's me. I've been missing in action from posting on my blog here. First, not much to say, second, I've been busy working, working, working, and boy do I need a break. Thirdly, overwhelmed with life and the economy and, well everything. Then to top off all those great feelings, one of my babies got sick very fast and I had to put him to sleep right after Thanksgiving. And so my heart has been very heavy. Do you ever just feel like curling up in bed and pulling the covers over your head? Well, thats about where I am right now.
Peanut was only five - but he melted our hearts. Wish him well - I see him running in the green hills of heaven
This is Aubrey - he is 8 weeks old and we hope he will help the family feel complete again.

But I did want to mention one of our own, at Skwigga-Zine. Kelly of Macaroni & Glue has cheered me up a little this morning with an image of her daughter decorating the Christmas tree (I should really get that done as well), and her great nostalgic greet cards and gift tags. I love old fashion Christmas. But the other great thing is that some of her cards have a modern touch as well.
